Alan was the best tour guide we have ever had. Extremely knowledgeable with so many historical stories that we will remember forever. My favorite memorable moment was seeing the real original Constitution and Declaration of Independence documents. The Capitol tour was tremendous as well. Great Experience

Love that Alan

When coming to a large historical city, there is always so much to absorb and experience. Having someone with historic knowledge is a wonderful advantage. My mother, brother, sister and I planned a trip to DC and was able to secure Alan Feldman as our tour guide. Alan emailed an itinerary of what to expect prior to our tour, made sure we had everything outlined for our wish list of things to see in our allowed time. The tour was very interactive and Alan made us feel right at home. My mother was in a wheelchair and the pace was pretty easy to accommodate maneuvering. We toured Arlington, was able to pay respects to a friend recently laid to rest and catch the changing of the guard. Other stops were incorporated. After returning to DC, we took a walking tour of the monuments. The day was blustery but so beautiful. Alan Brings American History to Life!

Alan Feldman of Concierge Tours brought our nation’s history to life for our two grandchildren (both 15), which is what every parent or grandparent hopes will happen when taking children or grandchildren to Washington D.C. The four of us were totally enthralled with Alan’s stories and incredible knowledge of American History. I had been to D.C. five times previously over the years but had never hired a tour guide before. I decided to hire Alan for this trip to help us accomplish the most we possibly could in the two days we had available. Alan is a member of the Professional Tour Guides Guild, and we were absolutely captivated by his many historical facts and stories. Alan allowed us to EXPERIENCE America’s history, not just SEE it. Alan makes touring D.C. so convenient. He picked us up at our hotel each morning and delivered us back to our hotel each night. I was relieved to not have to navigate D.C. traffic & parking. He knows every nook, cranny, & alley around D.C., and quickly navigated long tourist lines and traffic obstacles. He even took us to great restaurants, shopping in Georgetown, and delivered us to pick up our rental car so we could take our grandkids to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens for a few days. In short, Alan gave us an absolutely unforgettable experience. It truly was a trip of a lifetime. He definitely deserves five stars in my book!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfect Day

Alan was the perfect tour guide for a full day tour of Washington DC. Best One Day Tour in DC

We had a great day exploring DC with our tour guide, Alan. We didn’t even feel like we were on a tour, more like hanging out with your Uncle, that is a history nerd. When our friends told us about how they took their grandkids to Washington DC, they recommended that we hire Alan to guide us. Their description of an “Alan tour” was amazing. So when we took our grandkids to DC, we hired Alan for 1 ½ days. He exceeded our expectations. Oh, my, is this guy good. First of all, he made it “our” tour and accommodated our needs and our interests. Then he has that skill to be inclusive for our grandkids. He directed his attention to them, asking them questions beyond just seeing. His stories and insights brought life to American history that made all of us want more. He is going to be quoted a lot as we recall all the information we absorbed. We loved watching him “light up” while he was telling a historical story (stories he had already told a number of times before!). He is passionate about history and his tours. The BEST Tour

Everything about our DC half-day tour with Alan was first rate! Our children ages 14 and 16 are still talking about it and asking when we can return. Fantastic Tour

5 Star Tour

On a recent January weekend in Washington DC, I arranged with Concierge Tours for two trips, a full day tour and a half day tour. I was traveling with my adult daughter and my ten-year-old granddaughter, and I hoped to show my granddaughter as much of DC, particularly of a historical nature, as possible in a short time. As a family, we made a list of what we most wanted to see. Alan Feldman spent an hour on the phone with me discussing our list and suggesting the best use of our time and opportunities we would not want to miss. He made the reservations and bought any required tickets before the tour. In an efficient manner, he provided a written, instructive itinerary ahead of time. We knew what to expect and both tours turned out as outlined. Alan arrived on time to pick us up at our hotel in a clean, comfortable vehicle. He made use of the travel time to tell my granddaughter stories and teach her as much as possible. Alan is very knowledgeable and passionate about DC and its history. Alan took family photos along the way so we were able to listen and look at the sights without worrying about getting the best pics. Great Tour

We signed up for the private capitol and monuments tour with Alan and had a wonderful experience. He engaged every member of the family, providing unique and interesting facts. Greatest Time Ever

On August 6, 2023, our group had the best time with a tour guide you could ever ask for. Alan picked us up at 9 AM and took us all over Washington DC. We could not do a lot of the walking around, but he worked around that, and we saw so much. Alan was so knowledgeable, and he kept us involved with pop quizzes. We went to so many places and monuments including Arlington National Cemetery for the Changing of the Guard. He then took us back to our hotel and came back at 7:30 PM for a night tour. The night tour was a little rainy, but we still had a great time. Alan took us to the Vietnam wall and helped us find the names of several people that were my husband’s friends. There isn’t a better tour guide out there. We had the greatest time ever. We hated to say goodbye. Alan is fantastic. 5 Stars all the way.

Best Private DC Tour

I highly recommend this tour. First of all the vehicle was so comfy and cool for our party of 8 including our guide Alan. The amount of information this man knows and shares is simply incredible and very entertaining and it is what makes this tour sooo good. He was wonderful with my grandkids ages 7, 8 and 11. He asked them questions and kept them involved in the tour. He gave them stars at the end of our tour. My husband and I both had recent surgeries so we weren’t as physically capable to do all of the walking needed in the tour but he accommodated us with drop offs and pick ups to eliminate some of the walking and adapted some other parts of the tour as well. With temperatures that reached 100 degrees the cold water he supplied in a backpack cooler he carried certainly was a life saver. I really can’t imagine a better tour. Alan is very very good at his job. Thank you Alan for such a memorable day.

The best part of our DC visit.

Engaging and Intriguing Story Telling

More than we asked for

Chapter 2

A second wonderful adventure in DC with Alan Feldman of DC Concierge Tours! As so many places were closed during our 2021 visit, we just had to hire Alan as our guide for our return visit. During our 3 day adventure we visited the Capitol, the Library of Congress, the Washington Monument, Arlington Cemetery, Jefferson’s Monticello, the National Archives, Georgetown, and Martin’s Tavern, where we sat in the booth where JFK proposed to Jackie. It was especially moving to see the original Declaration and Constitution, which are fading with age. Alan also kindly took us back to Arlington to visit the grave of a dear, departed friend, an Army veteran buried there. Alan’s deep love of history is very evident in his breadth and depth of knowledge of the people and places that influenced the beginning of our country and continue to influence them to this day. A gracious and entertaining host, Alan tells “stories” rather than lectures, so you are engaged the entire tour. He also knows the best places to lunch. Rather than a cookie cutter tour, Alan customizes so you see what you want to see. With Alan, there are no worries about transportation, parking, where to eat, and he gets tickets to most venues. Sadly, we could not visit the White House, as you must contact your Congressman or Senator for tickets, which go quickly. As Senior Citizens, we appreciate Alan’s adjusting the tour to our needs. We highly recommend DC Concierge Tours. We may adopt him!

Alan was wonderful! We had a great trip to DC but the day we spent with Alan was by far our favorite. He made everything completely stress free for us so we could just enjoy and take it all in. Even during times where we were waiting to go into Ford’s Theater, walking between monuments, or walking around Arlington Cemetery, he excitedly chatted with us the entire time telling us the backstories and history of all that was around us. We could tell he genuinely loves the history of DC and was just as enthusiastic talking to us about all the stories as if it was his first time sharing (even though I know he does this all the time!). We hung on his every word all day! We definitely missed him the next couple of days exploring on our own. We plan to call him the next time we are in town and have him show us more historic places. So blessed to have met Alan and spend a day in DC with him!

Our new family friend

The Simmons want to thank you for making our trip to DC so amazing. I was a bit nervous getting a tour guide for two days. You never know if they’ll be knowledgeable, have a good personality and keep the kids engaged. If I had known how great the tours were, I would have booked more days! We loved that you talked to the kids and got them involved. I’m sure you could tell the competition between William and Ella to get the right answer. Your inside history made the trip fun, like the number of columns on Lincoln Memorial (36), the unnamed fountain outside the White House for Mr. Butt who died on the Titanic and the height of Washington Memorial (555’ 5” 1/8). Thank you for taking all the pictures to capture our family. I can see one of them being a Christmas Card. But most of all thank you being so fun, friendly and kind. Your tour really made it real for the kids. They got to see and learn so much. Historically Epic DC-Area- Highlights Tour!

Alan went above and beyond to share the very best of the DC area with our family. It was not, however, just a “highlights reel” tour. Instead, Alan helped us revisit all the history lessons of our past and shared tons of interesting stories and anecdotes we had not heard before. Alan’s genuine enthusiasm for exploring our nation’s rich history was truly inspiring. He kept us on our toes with “pop quiz” questions, and we were happily exhausted and full of new information, fun stories, and happy memories by the end of the day!

Alan Feldman is the best tour guide ever

Alan Feldman was our fantastic tour guide! First of all, I just want to say, this guy is absolutely amazing!!! Alan is not your ordinary boring tour guide. Alan is knowledgeable about all of the monuments and sites we visited and is a wonderful storyteller! I could listen to him talk all day! Alan has a genuinely caring personality and was very accommodating to everything we wanted to see and do. I felt like I had known him all of my life! After touring the monuments, he would walk back to the car and drive back to pick us up so we didn’t have to walk so far. I loved the fact that we could tailor our tour to the sites we were interested in seeing. Alan made our tour exciting and memorable! Thank you, Alan!

Our tour with Alan was nothing short of spectacular. Alan is very knowledgeable, professional, engaging and patient. He kept in touch with me prior to the tour, helped me plan the day to pack in everything we wanted to see, and let me know when to expect him to arrive at the hotel. He was willing to go at our pace and answered all of our questions thoroughly. Alan was successful at keeping my six and ten year old kids entertained the entire day and he kept the history he taught so interesting that they are both still reciting the facts they learned. Fabulous Tour

Our family toured Arlington and D.C. historical sites with Alan at Concierge Tours last week. He was very personable, knowledgeable and flexible – customizing our tour to incorporate our special interests. (Ford’s Theater and Petersen House). Alan always put forth an extra effort to put us in the best possible position/location to enjoy each site. His expertise was especially valuable in touring Arlington. Alan knows the location and history behind many famous graves and planned our tour to include excellent viewing of The Changing of the Guard and wreath laying ceremonies. Everywhere we went Alan was able to point out surprising details not known to most. Our tour was worth every penny, and we can’t recommend Alan highly enough!

Delightful Personalized Tour

We had a wonderful full day tour with Alan! He was great to work with to put together an itinerary to include what we wanted to see. Our family of 4 with two teen boys (15 & 18) spent the day seeing the National Archives, Arlington National Cemetery and Mount Vernon. Alan kept us entertained along the way with trivia questions and shared SO much knowledge! We all learned something new. Another perk was that Alan took photos for us as well. I loved being able to have pictures with all of us in them. Very impressed with his knowledge and helpfulness along the way, he even offered advice for the rest of our trip. Highly recommend booking a tour with him!!

First Review

We took our granddaughter to Washington, DC for her 10th birthday. I scheduled Alan the week before we arrived, and Alan contacted us before we left to coordinate with our expectations. Alan met them and beyond. Our granddaughter Eloise gave Alan a 12 on a scale of 1 – 10. All throughout our tour, Alan kept her engaged all the time with questions and trivia. We laughed and learned the entire day. We will be coming back with our grandson next year and can’t wait to see what Alan has in store for us. On a sidenote, this is the first time I’ve written a review for anything or anyone! Eloise is still talking about how much fun she had with you. Thank you so much for taking some of the pressure of the trip from Oma and Papa. We will contact you this fall for our trip next year.

So Accommodating

Our family of five, with children ages 22, 16, 11, LOVED our tour with Alan! It was the highlight of our DC trip. We spent a full day with Alan, and he took us to The Capitol, The National Archives, Arlington National Cemetery and the National Monuments. (Alan ended up spending extra time with us so we could get through our whole itinerary). I don’t think we would have had the steam to soldier through without Alan’s guidance, his stories and fun pop quizzes to keep us going. We were able to see so much in one day! I really appreciated the time he spent on the phone with me before our trip helping us come up with the right itinerary for our group. Also, what a treat for him to pick us up at our Airbnb and to be driven to the sites–not having to worry about traffic and parking, all while being entertained by his stories! Alan even took extra time to bring us back to our Airbnb in the middle of the day when we found out we had to move our rental car urgently. We would do this again in a heartbeat! Outstanding Tour

We are so impressed and thankful that we covered all of Washington DC with Alan. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He knew every little detail about the monuments, Arlington National Cemetery, The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Mount Vernon, Ford’s Theatre, National Archives, US Congress, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln etc. We spent two full days with Alan and his company, Concierge Tours and we highly recommend Alan if you want to see all that Washington has to offer.

Spectacular Tour

Alan was truly amazing. Our family of four planned our first trip to Washington, D.C. We wanted to avoid the hassle of finding everything ourselves, navigating traffic, parking and finding information on each place we wanted to go. Alan saw to all of this flawlessly while at the same time providing detailed history and stories we never knew about each site and with a great sense of humor the whole day. Alan provided the best feature of all as he also served as our photographer for the day. Each picture has my whole family in them!
