Our Visit to DC would not have been the wonderful learning experience it was without Alan and Concierge Tours DC

Alan is a doll. He gave us a plethora of information we would not otherwise get. He was very attentive. I tripped and hurt myself and he was beyond accommodating. Superb tour of the DC sites!

Book this DC tour without hesitation! Alan gave our family an amazing and educational experience that we will treasure forever! From the moment we booked, Alan was planning and tailoring our tour based on our personal requests and needs. He called and even offered some input on our stay in colonial Williamsburg prior to the DC leg of our trip. He went above and beyond and his knowledge of the area and its history was impressive! We chose to spend the whole day with Alan and he guided us through the U.S. Capitol, Ford’s Theatre, and the National Archives Museum. The destinations were fantastic, but we got extra tidbits and insights that we would have never had without a knowledgeable guide. Our favorite part was when Alan asked his friend at Ford’s Theatre to open the door (which was closed to the public) to get an inside look at the box seats that Lincoln and his wife were sitting in when he was shot! Alan’s tour was memorable for our family of 6 and we were treated to cold water and a large air-conditioned van for our family of 6. We will definitely call him again for future trips to our nation’s capitol.

Fantastic Tour

Our Wonderful DC Tour with Alan and Concierge Tours

Perfect day trip in DC!!

Amazingly Unexpected Tour!

Our family took a tour of a life time. Alan, our guide, gave us a personalized, extremely detailed historical tour with an unexpected seating in the House of Representatives. What a treat! Our nighttime visit of the Monuments was also a fantastic opportunity. I personally would like to add that Alan was very patient with me, Dad, with my ankle disability. Look no further

My family went to Washington D.C. late May of 2025. We debated if we should do it on our own or take a tour. After debating what we should do, we decided to take a tour. There are a lot of tours out there but I read one that caught my attention. It was a private tour called conciergetoursdc.com. I called and spoke with a gentleman, Alan Feldman. WOW!! I did not hesitate booking a full day tour with him. It was informative, funny, and very interesting stories you would not get on another tour. He had to deal with a 13 and 16 year old. He held their attention and engaged with them. If you are debating what to do, LOOK NO FURTHER, he is the one. You will not be sorry. Simply Amazing

I usually don’t write reviews, but my recent tour through Washington DC with Alan was wonderful and warrants recognition for a job well-done. I booked our tour with Alan on Viator. This was a full day guided tour of Washington DC. for myself, my daughter and my two granddaughters (ages 14 and 15). Shortly after booking, I received a confirmation phone call from Alan. After our brief conversation about what highlights we should see in our nation’s capital, I was more than thrilled that he had accepted our booking. The first time we spoke, I realized that we were going to have an incredible learning experience with a deeply knowledgeable guide. Alan made our day fun and exciting while learning something at every stop. There were so many stories and fun facts that it became easy for the girls to take part in the conversation. Both girls are homeschooled and had completed study projects leading up to this trip. So, they were knowledgeable of the sites they were going to see. However, Alan added so much depth to what they had already learned that I am sure the added knowledge from this tour will become imprinted on their young minds for years to come. Now that they are back home, we find that the girls genuinely enjoyed learning added information and are actively sharing their new knowledge with others. It is noticeably clear that Alan has made an impressive impact on their education. The rating system only allows me to award Alan with 5 stars; I would give 10 stars if I could.

Best part of our trip

The BEST tour guide ever for touring DC! Alan is very knowledgeable about history, as well as an engaging amazing story teller. He truly really brings history to life. You learn details you would not hear about from other tour guides, giving one a greater appreciation of our nation's capitol. He doesn't rush to stick to a schedule. He takes as long as is needed. And he takes great photos to commemorate your visit. We hired Alan for 2 half days. The first day, Alan took us to Ford's Theatre, guided us through the Lincoln Assassination and Conspiracy Tour and visited the bed Lincoln died in. Of all the sites we saw in our 5 days with and without Alan, Ford's Theatre was everyone's favorite, in large part, due to Alan as our guide. Afterwards, he took us to the National Archives to see our founding documents and the Magna Carter. Then we headed over to the National Mall to see iconic monuments. The other half day, Alan took us to Mt. Vernon. My husband (who, initially wasn't that excited about going to Mt Vernon) commented to me, later, that he actually enjoyed it much better than he thought he would, thanks to Alan. I would highly, highly recommend Concierge Tours for your visit to Washington, DC. I hope to return again someday to DC to visit all the places I didn't get to and will certainly hire Alan at Concierge Tours again.

Excellent, Engaging, Enlightening, Entertaining and Educational

This was the absolute gem of our Washington DC trip. While I had been to DC a few times, my fiancé had not. We decided a private full day tour would be a great way to get the most out of the trip. We got way more than we could have imagined. Alan, our guide, was so engaging and did a great job working with us. From pre-visit communications and planning Alan was top-notch! Even for someone who thinks she knows it all (that’s me!) I learned so much. We were reciting factoids all weekend. It was fun, entertaining, educational, enlightening, and Alan made us feel like friends quickly. Even if you have been to DC and think you’ve seen it all, you haven’t. Alan will share things that only someone with as much enthusiasm and passion as he has could. We did this tour on our first day in town and spent the next two days looking at things around DC and saying, “I bet Alan knows why this is…”. If you are considering a tour, I doubt you’d find a more enjoyable guide or memorable experience than this. In one day here are some of the highlights: We visited/toured The US Capitol (if you have a chance to eat here, don’t miss the salad bar, dessert station, and burgers, we almost went back for lunch another day it was so good), walked the mall and visited the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Vietnam Memorial Wall, White House South Lawn Ellipse, and Arlington (we watched a wreath laying ceremony at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and changing of the guard, and visited the Kennedy graves). Alan provided us a list of dining recommendations for the remainder of the trip, and we were lucky enough to snag some reservations, and he was spot on. Keep in mind, this experience was customized per our pre-travel communication so you might have other interests that cater more towards your wish list. We would recommend 10/10 and will do this again ourselves.

Exceptional Tour!

We recently travelled to Washington DC to see our Son’s High School Band play in front of the Lincoln memorial. We had essentially one full day to see as much of the city as possible and decided to book a full day tour. Luckily enough, Alan had the day available. Alan called us to confirm the itinerary and places of interest almost immediately after booking. On the day of our tour, Alan picked us up at our hotel and we headed out on our day. Alan was personable, knowledgeable and most of all fun. From the National Mall to the memorials, to the Capitol Building, Alan spoke with passion for the history and was able to point out things that we never would have found on our own. It truly felt like a friend was guiding us around the city! Alan even managed to get a smile out of our 13-Year-old daughter…. No easy task. I can’t recommend Alan enough!

Wonderful Washington Day Tour with Alan – Unforgettable Experience!

We are a family from Denmark, and we had the most amazing full-day tour of Washington, D.C. with our guide, Alan. He picked us up directly from our hotel in the morning, which made everything very easy and convenient. Our first stop was the impressive U.S. Capitol. Alan guided us around the building and shared its fascinating history and architecture. We were even able to go inside and see the stunning interior, including the famous Rotunda and the chambers where Congress meets. It was a special experience to visit such an important place at the heart of American democracy. After the Capitol, we enjoyed a beautiful walk around the National Mall. We visited many of the city's most iconic landmarks, including the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the moving 2nd World War and Vietnam War memorials. Alan’s knowledge and storytelling made each stop come alive. We ended the day with a powerful visit to Arlington National Cemetery. We witnessed the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and visited President John F. Kennedy’s grave. It was a very meaningful and respectful experience, and Alan’s guidance helped us understand the importance of the place. This tour was the perfect mix of history, culture, and unforgettable moments. Alan was not only knowledgeable but also kind, thoughtful, and easy to spend the day with. We left with a much deeper appreciation for Washington, D.C., and the stories behind its landmarks. 10/10 Day with Alan in Washington DC!

Our family of 4 had a great day with Alan touring Washington DC. He picked us up at our hotel right on time and immediately connected with our family and engaged our kids (11 & 14) with interesting facts and stories. We did a full day tour and visited The Capitol, did a monument tour and toured Arlington Cemetery. Alan knows his stuff and is very well connected. He made our day extra special with access into a session of the House of Reps, front of the line privilege at the Capitol cafeteria and timed the changing of the guard at Arlington perfectly. Walking the monuments was so much more interesting with him sharing hidden and less known facts as well as historical stories to make it more fun. Best Private Tour Guide

My wife and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law took a tour of DC with Alan. We have taken private tours in the past and I have to say that this was one of the best. Alan is extremely knowledgeable and shares details with us we would never have known existed. We were also able to see things that were not on the scheduled tour. Alan did not hesitate to pause our tour in order for us to witness Marine One landing on the South Lawn of the White House. We saw four jets flying in formation and then assuming The Missing Man Formation flyover over Arlington National Cemetery, which was awesome, and the changing of the Guard and so much more! Best Private Tour Guide Ever!

Alan has set the bar high for a private tour guide!! He was very professional yet so comfortable to be around. FANTASTIC Tour of Washington DC with the Kids!

Alan was amazing! He custom planned our tour based on the activities and sights we wanted to see. We traveled with a group of 9, two young girls, three teenagers, three adults and one senior. Fantastic Day in DC

I honestly can’t say enough good things about Alan! We were unsure of what to think about spending the whole day with a stranger but he immediately put us at ease with easy conversation and so many fun facts about some of the things we were going to see that day. We went to Ford’s Theater, toured the Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery, and did a nighttime monument tour all in one day with Alan. He knew so many interesting facts about every location and knew exactly where to take us for the best views and pictures. He was happy to take lots of group pictures that have become priceless memories of our amazing trip. Alan’s expertise allowed us to just relax and enjoy the day. He knew workers at every location that at times allowed us to be moved through lines faster and get a sneak peek of parts of the Capitol not on tour. He also does all the driving and knew where to find parking in the very congested DC streets. Alan is professional, fun, full of good information, and easy to spend the day with. I feel we met that morning as strangers and walked away friends. My 15 year old son stayed engaged the whole time and told Alan at the end it was the best tour we have ever been on. Amazing and unforgettable day with the nicest, most amazing guide

My wife, granddaughter and I came to DC for her 15th birthday and we wanted a fun, interactive private tour of DC. We got all of that and more… we had comedy, we had trivia, an amazing history lesson and overall one of the best tours we have ever been on in all our travels. Alan was amazing… or in my wife’s words, “phenomenal”. We loved the personal touch, all the “Easter eggs” and the depth of knowledge and passion he has for all the history and what makes this city so unique and special. From the time we were picked up, we had nonstop fun, learned so many things that you would never learn on other tours. Again, simply amazing!!! The monument walk was incredible, and Arlington was very breathtaking, humbling and patriotic - even got to witness a wreath ceremony after the changing of the guard! At the end of the tour Alan recommended a restaurant (shameless plug for Flavio’s in Georgetown), and even called the restaurant to ask them to take good care of us - and they did, and the food was fantastic!! For anyone reading this review, if you’re considering doing a tour, stop looking and book this one. If you’re not sure about a private tour because they are a little more expensive, I can assure you that it’s worth every penny (and more) of the additional touches, the personalization and the awesome tour guide. Highly recommend… I give Alan SIX stars (because he’s not allowed to outrank George Washington), and highly recommend him!!!

Great Personalized Private Tour of DC

We enjoyed our day with Alan touring Washington DC on a very cold day just after a snowstorm tried to shut down the city. Between the snow, President Carter’s funeral the day following our tour and the upcoming Presidential Inauguration, many venues around town were unfortunately closed. Alan planned around the closures and took us to Ford’s Theater, the National Archives and Arlington National Cemetery. After a short late afternoon break we met up with him again for a beautiful night time tour of the National Monuments. We enjoy eating at family owned restaurants vs. traditional chains, so for lunch he suggested a wonderful Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. It hands down was the best meal we ate in our short time in DC. We enjoyed our day and would recommend both of these tours to anyone wanting to experience the city at their own pace, while learning about the history of it all from a guide who loves to share his knowledge of US history.

Outstanding Tour of Washington DC

We did this tour as a family of 5 including 3 young adult children. We all agreed that it was a great day. Alan is a fantastic guide, incredibly knowledgeable and personable. The day ran seamlessly from pick up at Union Stn to drop off at our accommodation. Alan was flexible, making sure the itinerary worked to maximise the timings etc. throughout the day. We truly cannot recommend Alan enough if you are looking to explore Washington DC. My fiancé and I were going to DC for a few days and wanted to pack in as much as possible. Alan FaceTimed both of us prior to our tour to build the itinerary. He helped us decide what would be worth seeing with him. He even gave us recommendations of other things we could see during our stay outside of the tour. The tour itself was UNREAL… a day we will never forget. Couldn’t have been any better!!

On Monday, October 14, 2024 at exactly 9 o’clock (right on time )…Alan showed up and introduced himself and our excellent tour began. From the very beginning, it was pretty clear that Alan was interested in having our day be the best it could starting with his courteous and enthusiastic demeanor. Also, Alan connected with my wife, our children and me on a personal level and made us feel very comfortable. Alan’s tour was very efficient, and he knew exactly where to go in a timely fashion so to not waste a lot of time on the road. We maximized our time at the different venues that we wanted to see and experience. Additionally, the amazing amount of factual information that Alan shared with us during our tour was mine blowing. We wondered how one person could remember such an amazing amount of history and with such detail. It wasn’t just the amount of information being shared by Alan; it was the manner in which he presented it to us. Alan’s excellent storytelling made it very interesting and not boring as if we were sitting in a history class being lectured! When our time with Alan was over, he recommended two very excellent restaurants and we dined at one of them. We received excellent service because of his relationship with a gentleman named Moose at Flavio, an Italian restaurant in Georgetown. Therefore, we strongly suggest that if you want to tour Washington, D.C., we highly recommend that you hire Alan as your personal guide. You will not be sorry and you’ll see that it’s worth every cent and then some!

Amazing Experience

Our family of 8 people (including our foreign exchange student from Spain) recently spent the most incredible full day touring Washington DC with the most incredible tour guide. From the moment Alan Feldman picked us up at our hotel in Arlington (in a very comfortable, accommodating van), it felt as though we were hanging out with another member of our family. His knowledge of the area and the humor with which he shares that knowledge is so impressive and just makes you want to learn more. The speaker system he used in the vehicle made it easy to hear everything he was saying from wherever you are seated and that made it so much better for my sometimes hard of hearing husband. Alan’s trivia questions are fun and make learning new information more fun. Even my sometimes-shy grandchildren were eager to attempt to answer him. They (along with our girl from Spain) learned so much from this trip that I knew I had made the right decision to book this tour. The kids went back to school and impressively shared what they had learned and seen in their classrooms. That would never have been possible without Alan. The first thing I did when I returned home was to call my travel agent and tell her to continue recommending this tour and Alan to other customers and to thank her for the recommendation. Epic Journey

Best Tour & Tour Guide Ever

The best part of our first family trip to Washington DC was our full day, private tour with Alan. This is the guy you want for a spectacular time. Alan was so thorough, knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. I could not have asked for more. If you find a better guide meet me on J Street for us to have a debate about it (history joke). Alan tailored the tour around our family of three (husband / wife / 11 year old son). We chose what we wanted to see in our day, and every place we visited, Alan provided interactive and fun history lessons and facts far beyond the average rhetoric of “here is a historical building and here is when it was built.” It was just a perfect atmosphere to learn for the adults and my pre-teen son. Our time in the vehicle felt like a mashup of Jeopardy and Cash Cab together. Our day long tour was the fastest 8 hours of our entire trip by far. Alan took wonderful pics of our family at every turn and he provided us with constant waters, electrolyte mixes and umbrellas to combat the extreme heat. Alan even went and got the vehicle for a quick pick up to be in the A/C when my little guy got a bit overheated. Alan - I thank you so much for the great DC memory you gave my family. Look no further! Alan is THE BEST guide for your tour!! Earlier this year my husband and I decided to take my 72 year old dad to Washington D.C. He had never been and had wanted to go for years. My dad is a patriot who loves this country with every fiber of his being, so I wanted to make sure he was able to experience D.C. the way he deserved and give him memories to cherish forever! Alan delivered just that and SO MUCH MORE! From the moment I spoke to Alan on the phone in preparation for our tour I knew it was going to great, but the experience far exceeded any expectation I could have dreamed. The day of our tour was HOT, HOT, HOT. Being from Texas, we knew what to expect and prepared as best as we could, but Alan added to our preparedness with umbrellas for shade and a cooler backpack with Gatorade and bottled water! He wore this backpack (at least 15 extra pounds) for the entire day - all 8 miles we walked!! We began our day at Congress! To be honest, this was the portion I was least excited about and ended up absolutely loving it. Alan provided unbelievable information, “Easter Eggs”, and amazing historical references. We were simply in awe of our nation’s great capital! We then journeyed to the National Mall to view the monuments and memorials. Along the way, Alan would tell stories (I had definitely never heard) and gave us pop quizzes! Don’t worry - he was a GREAT teacher and very lenient when it came to grades and wrong answers! 😉 Our final stop of the day was Arlington National Cemetery where we were able to witness the Changing of the Guard and learn about some of the incredible heroes and leaders laid to rest there. The experience was absolutely humbling, breathtaking, and something my father and I will never forget. I honestly cannot recommend Alan enough! He was an EXCELLENT guide, and now friend. He provided my dad and I with the experience of a lifetime and we will forever be grateful to him! Alan’s passion for history, people, D.C., and this country are contagious! My wife and I traveled to Washington DC with our grandson to celebrate his 16th birthday with a 5-day historical perspective on our nation. Hiring Alan Feldman of Concierge Tours as our tour guide turned out to be one of the best decisions ever, as his knowledge, professionalism, good clean humor, and thorough thoughtful planning and execution of the tours are top notch and made the trip enjoyable, meaningful, memorable and worthwhile. Our grandson interacted very well with Alan as they shared rich history and shares what Alan calls little "Easter Eggs" of hidden information that you won't get from the big tour groups. Alan knows several of the curators and tour guides around town and seemed to be able to work us through the crowds and to the front of the line. He also pivoted the itinerary for us on the fly to enhance our experience and comfort. One day Alan drove and guided us to Mount Vernon, Arlington Cemetery, and the National Archives. On another day we toured the US Capitol, Ford's Theater, and the National Mall to see the Memorials and Monuments. He drove us by many significant buildngs and provided excellent perspective. He helped us with restaurant selections, which didn't disappoint. We toured the Smithsonian buildings on our own, and booked a White House Tour via our Congressman's office. 2 days with Alan and two days on our own, plus travel days was a perfect schedule for us. Alan picked us up promptly each day at 9AM at our hotel near the White House in comfortable, roomy, clean (and new) vehicles. He is a safe driver and impeccable tour guide. What's more, he has a great sense of humor and interacts very well with young and old, is courteous and friendly. When I first contacted Alan he spent time to listen and to explain the custom tour, and then followed up with a written tour itinerary. I highly recommend Concierge Tours and Alan Feldman! Exceeded Expectations

Our family of 4 enjoyed our tour of the Capitol Building & Ford’s Theatre with Alan of Concierge tours during our short stay in Washington, D.C. We loved how Alan kept our 2 teenage boys engaged, which was worth the entire booking. The tour took a whole level of stress out of the visit as Alan got us where we were going and knew what sites were available to view fully (e.g. Ford’s theater isn’t fully available when a play is in session). Going the extra mile

First off I can’t recommend Alan enough. He had the best communication, even letting our family know that we were not staying in a good neighborhood so we had time to get that changed. Simply the best

Alan did an awesome job being our personal tour guide. We went on two tours, one at night and the next one in the day time. It was beautiful to see the sites at night. The very best tour in D.C. - go private with Alan!

I’m not a fan of writing reviews, but in a case like this it has to be done! Alan is absolutely D.C.’s BEST tour guide. My twenty something daughter and I went into this experience not really knowing what to expect. We’d heard a lot of stories about how dull and boring most D.C. tours could be. But, boy was it ever a blast! Alan knows so many little details that are truly gems. He gives you a slew of intimate stories and personal facts about so many of our former leaders, various agencies and offices, memorials, and the city as a whole. He’s also one of the funniest guys to spend an afternoon with. Who knew that time spent with an “encyclopedia” could be so much fun!! And on top of every thing else, he’s very patient about getting great pics at every special site. We spent 5 hours with him and it felt like maybe 2 at the most. I highly recommend this private tour with Alan. It seems a little expensive when you’re signing up, but I guarantee you won’t feel that way when the day is over. Money very well spent!

Love that Alan

When coming to a large historical city, there is always so much to absorb and experience. Having someone with historic knowledge is a wonderful advantage. My mother, brother, sister and I planned a trip to DC and was able to secure Alan Feldman as our tour guide. Alan emailed an itinerary of what to expect prior to our tour, made sure we had everything outlined for our wish list of things to see in our allowed time. Alan Brings American History to Life!

Alan Feldman of Concierge Tours brought our nation’s history to life for our two grandchildren (both 15), which is what every parent or grandparent hopes will happen when taking children or grandchildren to Washington D.C. The four of us were totally enthralled with Alan’s stories and incredible knowledge of American History. I had been to D.C. five times previously over the years but had never hired a tour guide before. Best One Day Tour in DC

We had a great day exploring DC with our tour guide, Alan. We didn’t even feel like we were on a tour, more like hanging out with your Uncle, that is a history nerd. When our friends told us about how they took their grandkids to Washington DC, they recommended that we hire Alan to guide us. Their description of an “Alan tour” was amazing. So when we took our grandkids to DC, we hired Alan for 1 ½ days. He exceeded our expectations. Oh, my, is this guy good. First of all, he made it “our” tour and accommodated our needs and our interests. Then he has that skill to be inclusive for our grandkids. The BEST Tour

Everything about our DC half-day tour with Alan was first rate! Our children ages 14 and 16 are still talking about it and asking when we can return. Fantastic Tour

5 Star Tour

On a recent January weekend in Washington DC, I arranged with Concierge Tours for two trips, a full day tour and a half day tour. I was traveling with my adult daughter and my ten-year-old granddaughter, and I hoped to show my granddaughter as much of DC, particularly of a historical nature, as possible in a short time. As a family, we made a list of what we most wanted to see. Alan Feldman spent an hour on the phone with me discussing our list and suggesting the best use of our time and opportunities we would not want to miss. He made the reservations and bought any required tickets before the tour. In an efficient manner, he provided a written, instructive itinerary ahead of time. We knew what to expect and both tours turned out as outlined. Alan arrived on time to pick us up at our hotel in a clean, comfortable vehicle. He made use of the travel time to tell my granddaughter stories and teach her as much as possible. Alan is very knowledgeable and passionate about DC and its history. Alan took family photos along the way so we were able to listen and look at the sights without worrying about getting the best pics. Great Tour

We signed up for the private capitol and monuments tour with Alan and had a wonderful experience. He engaged every member of the family, providing unique and interesting facts. Greatest Time Ever

On August 6, 2023, our group had the best time with a tour guide you could ever ask for. Alan picked us up at 9 AM and took us all over Washington DC. We could not do a lot of the walking around, but he worked around that, and we saw so much. Alan was so knowledgeable, and he kept us involved with pop quizzes. We went to so many places and monuments including Arlington National Cemetery for the Changing of the Guard. He then took us back to our hotel and came back at 7:30 PM for a night tour. The night tour was a little rainy, but we still had a great time. Alan took us to the Vietnam wall and helped us find the names of several people that were my husband’s friends. There isn’t a better tour guide out there. We had the greatest time ever. We hated to say goodbye. Alan is fantastic. 5 Stars all the way.

Best Private DC Tour

I highly recommend this tour. First of all the vehicle was so comfy and cool for our party of 8 including our guide Alan. The amount of information this man knows and shares is simply incredible and very entertaining and it is what makes this tour sooo good. He was wonderful with my grandkids ages 7, 8 and 11. He asked them questions and kept them involved in the tour. He gave them stars at the end of our tour. My husband and I both had recent surgeries so we weren’t as physically capable to do all of the walking needed in the tour but he accommodated us with drop offs and pick ups to eliminate some of the walking and adapted some other parts of the tour as well. With temperatures that reached 100 degrees the cold water he supplied in a backpack cooler he carried certainly was a life saver. I really can’t imagine a better tour. Alan is very very good at his job. Thank you Alan for such a memorable day.

Chapter 2

A second wonderful adventure in DC with Alan Feldman of DC Concierge Tours! As so many places were closed during our 2021 visit, we just had to hire Alan as our guide for our return visit. During our 3 day adventure we visited the Capitol, the Library of Congress, the Washington Monument, Arlington Cemetery, Jefferson’s Monticello, the National Archives, Georgetown, and Martin’s Tavern, where we sat in the booth where JFK proposed to Jackie. It was especially moving to see the original Declaration and Constitution, which are fading with age. Alan also kindly took us back to Arlington to visit the grave of a dear, departed friend, an Army veteran buried there. Alan’s deep love of history is very evident in his breadth and depth of knowledge of the people and places that influenced the beginning of our country and continue to influence them to this day. A gracious and entertaining host, Alan tells “stories” rather than lectures, so you are engaged the entire tour. He also knows the best places to lunch. Rather than a cookie cutter tour, Alan customizes so you see what you want to see. With Alan, there are no worries about transportation, parking, where to eat, and he gets tickets to most venues. Sadly, we could not visit the White House, as you must contact your Congressman or Senator for tickets, which go quickly. As Senior Citizens, we appreciate Alan’s adjusting the tour to our needs. We highly recommend DC Concierge Tours. We may adopt him!

Should have booked more time!

Alan was wonderful! We had a great trip to DC but the day we spent with Alan was by far our favorite. He made everything completely stress free for us so we could just enjoy and take it all in. Even during times where we were waiting to go into Ford’s Theater, walking between monuments, or walking around Arlington Cemetery, he excitedly chatted with us the entire time telling us the backstories and history of all that was around us. Fabulous Tour

Our family toured Arlington and D.C. historical sites with Alan at Concierge Tours last week. He was very personable, knowledgeable and flexible – customizing our tour to incorporate our special interests. (Ford’s Theater and Petersen House). Alan always put forth an extra effort to put us in the best possible position/location to enjoy each site. His expertise was especially valuable in touring Arlington. Alan knows the location and history behind many famous graves and planned our tour to include excellent viewing of The Changing of the Guard and wreath laying ceremonies. Delightful Personalized Tour

We had a wonderful full day tour with Alan! He was great to work with to put together an itinerary to include what we wanted to see. Our family of 4 with two teen boys (15 & 18) spent the day seeing the National Archives, Arlington National Cemetery and Mount Vernon. Alan kept us entertained along the way with trivia questions and shared SO much knowledge! We all learned something new. Another perk was that Alan took photos for us as well. I loved being able to have pictures with all of us in them. Very impressed with his knowledge and helpfulness along the way, he even offered advice for the rest of our trip. Highly recommend booking a tour with him!!

First Review

We took our granddaughter to Washington, DC for her 10th birthday. I scheduled Alan the week before we arrived, and Alan contacted us before we left to coordinate with our expectations. Alan met them and beyond. Our granddaughter Eloise gave Alan a 12 on a scale of 1 – 10. All throughout our tour, Alan kept her engaged all the time with questions and trivia. We laughed and learned the entire day. We will be coming back with our grandson next year and can’t wait to see what Alan has in store for us. On a sidenote, this is the first time I’ve written a review for anything or anyone! Eloise is still talking about how much fun she had with you. Thank you so much for taking some of the pressure of the trip from Oma and Papa. We will contact you this fall for our trip next year.

So Accommodating

Our family of five, with children ages 22, 16, 11, LOVED our tour with Alan! It was the highlight of our DC trip. We spent a full day with Alan, and he took us to The Capitol, The National Archives, Arlington National Cemetery and the National Monuments. (Alan ended up spending extra time with us so we could get through our whole itinerary). I don’t think we would have had the steam to soldier through without Alan’s guidance, his stories and fun pop quizzes to keep us going. We were able to see so much in one day! I really appreciated the time he spent on the phone with me before our trip helping us come up with the right itinerary for our group. Also, what a treat for him to pick us up at our Airbnb and to be driven to the sites–not having to worry about traffic and parking, all while being entertained by his stories! Alan even took extra time to bring us back to our Airbnb in the middle of the day when we found out we had to move our rental car urgently. We would do this again in a heartbeat! Outstanding Tour

We are so impressed and thankful that we covered all of Washington DC with Alan. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He knew every little detail about the monuments, Arlington National Cemetery, The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Mount Vernon, Ford’s Theatre, National Archives, US Congress, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln etc. We spent two full days with Alan and his company, Concierge Tours and we highly recommend Alan if you want to see all that Washington has to offer.

Spectacular Tour

Alan was truly amazing. Our family of four planned our first trip to Washington, D.C. We wanted to avoid the hassle of finding everything ourselves, navigating traffic, parking and finding information on each place we wanted to go. Alan saw to all of this flawlessly while at the same time providing detailed history and stories we never knew about each site and with a great sense of humor the whole day. Alan provided the best feature of all as he also served as our photographer for the day. Each picture has my whole family in them! Alan took pictures at each location and sent them to me in real time. Having pictures without one of us missing was really nice! I would 110% recommend Alan and Concierge Tours!!
